Best MP3 Player For Audiobooks: Top 5 Products Reviews and Comparissons

Choosing the best MP3 player for audiobooks is an important decision. It can mean the difference between easy access to your audiobooks, causing you great listener enjoyment, or a difficult user experience that stops you listening to as many audiobooks as you want.

There are many MP3 players on the market that have the ability to play audiobooks, but very few of them come highly recommended. Most of them fail to seamlessly integrate with your computer and the internet, making it difficult to get your audiobooks onto your device.

I have created a simple comparison chart where you can compare price, features and useability and you can choose the absolute best mp3 player for audiobooks that you can afford.

I have narrowed the search down to just 6 devices worth looking at.

The Ultimate Best MP3 Player For Audiobooks Guide and Key

Included in each review is a comparison table that outlines the key features of each product.

After the matrix I have provided in-depth outlines and reviews of each MP3 player going into greater detail about the pros and cons and my recommendations. I have also included some short YouTube videos that allow you to see the device in more detail.

1. Apple iPod Touch 4th/5th Gen

iPod Touch - Best MP3 Player For Audio Books

The elite and best MP3 Player for Audiobooks come from the master of portable music…Apple.

The iPod touch is an amazing device that does so much more than just play audiobooks.

You can watch movies, play games, download podcasts, take photos and videos and surf the internet over your local Wifi or Bluetooth connection.

It is these features that make it the world’s #1 music player device and the world’s #1 gaming device. That is also why I have rated the iPod touch above any other MP3 Audiobook Player out there.

2. Samsung Galaxy Player

Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 - The Second Best MP3 Player For AudiobooksSamsung are producing great products and the Android platform is very comparable to the iPod platform. In some aspects it is even better (eg. Google integration).

The Galaxy player is a bit clunkier than the iPod and a little less sexy but it won’t cost you as much as the iPod either.

Access to the Google Play store means you can download a variety of audiobook apps – most notably the Audible Audiobook App.

One of the major flaws is that there is no access to iTunes. So great for audiobooks if you use Audible, but useless if you are using iTunes as your audiobook platform.

Overall a great product, and if you don’t want to fork out the money for the iPod touch but you still want a fully functioning device then you can’t go wrong with the Samsung Galaxy Player.

3. Apple iPod Nano 7th Generation

So small it can fit in your pocket, but powerful enough to store all your audiobooks.

4. Creative Sansa-Fuse

The Sansa-Fuse looks great, is fairly intuitive and is an all round recent MP3 player.

The biggest issue I have with this product (and other cheaper MP3 players) is their lack of integration with Audiobook Apps.

This makes accessing your audiobooks harder and you are required to download the file to your computer and then transfer to your device.

But if you are looking for something that isn’t too expensive and something that does the job then this is a great option.

5. Creative Zen X-Fi3

Creative Zen X-Fi3 is a great portable MP3 player. It is extremely small so you can take it with you anywhere you go.

The iPod and Android portable devices have tainted me when I look at the lower range products.

This product has no touch screen which makes me think it would be very difficult to navigate through your audiobooks.

6. SanDisk Clip Zip

The Clip Zip looks pretty cool, it is the ‘getting back to basics’ device.

Simple to use buttons that allow you to easily access and navigate your way through the device without too much hassle.

Has an external clip so you can put it in your pocket or clip it onto yourself. It can’t quite compare to the functionality of the iPod touch and Samsung Galaxy Player…but what can?

The SanDisk Clip Zip simply gets the job done for a great price.
